Since January 2020 René Buschmann is trainee at the group security department. During his trainee career, he is trained as Information Security Manager.
Especially attractive at the start as a trainee at the HDI Group is the high priority and the appreciation of the colleagues. The boards of directors are also very interested in the work of the trainees. In addition, you get to know many areas and make many important contacts for the future. Similarly, the permanent employment contract, which you get at the beginning of the program, is a reason to opt for the HDI Group.
I was already working as a student in the Group’s information security department and was able to get to know the processes and the team. The issue of information security is an integral part of today’s society and must be taken into account by every company. In addition, the area is incredibly diverse and has interfaces to various projects within the Group, which has already given me a good overview of important topics. The opportunity to do a trainee program in such an exciting, versatile area convinced me.
Lunch – the canteen is really good. I am also looking forward to the team and the versatility of the tasks. Often you don’t know what awaits you in the office and you are always surprised by new tasks.
What I like most is the trust my colleagues and my mentor have placed in me from day one. There were direct tasks on which I could work independently and for whose results I was allowed to take responsibility. In addition, the free design of the internships is a real plus point, as it allows me to tailor the program to my interests.
Take a deep breath and just be yourself - then it works! The staff from the human resources department are nice and understanding; the selection procedures have a relaxed atmosphere.
I have weekly meetings with my mentor in which we exchange information about our professional and private lives. If I have problems, cannot get on with a topic or just want to chat, I can come to him. Professionally, he gives me challenging tasks and then productive feedback in order to promote me. In general, the Group is undergoing major upheaval and hierarchies are gradually being dismantled - this means that people meet at eye level.
