Wellbeing ...

depends on our individual needs - spending time with loved ones, reading a book, going for a walk with our four-legged friends. Personal time-outs are important for our inner satisfaction and our mental and physical health. I have had this experience myself and have learnt the following from it.

My private quality time consists of doing CrossFit every day. By the way, my colleagues say this at terrible times.

I generally like sporting challenges and also spend part of my holiday at fitness boot camps, which is a valuable combination of sport and relaxation for me. The only reason I'll never look like a muscular woman is my love of good food!

During this time, no thoughts come up - it's just me and my inner bastard and we ask ourselves: what are you doing again, you crazy girl? I just focus on me and there are no todos, no mobile phone, no social commitments. I take this free time very consciously and actively plan my sports appointments into my everyday (work) life. Appointment blockers in my work calendar and prioritising my private matters help me to do this - because good time management is everything.

I have realised that I need this (daily) me-time to feel balanced, content and happy. I have learnt to prioritise myself as a person and to listen to my own needs in order to lead a fulfilled life.

The demands of my job keep increasing, according to the motto: faster, faster, faster! In addition, there are private issues.
We have no choice - we are all part of this living game. But we do have the opportunity to look after ourselves and not forget the people around us! What about your wellbeing? 3 questions you can ask yourself to find out:

❓ Who or what makes you feel good and puts a smile on your face?
❓ Which private appointments do you look forward to the most?
❓ When do you feel most at ease?

HDInsight: Who are the sporty people around me?
@Michael Blautzik, @Linda Jürgens, @Christian Marx and @Henning Kuschewitz are my CrossFit buddies and very dear colleagues to boot.

Michi, Linda and I got to know each other at the CrossFit studio. Both have been working in agile units at the @HDI Group for a few months now. #inspirepeople

Christian is Head of Strategic Development in our Specialised Insurance segment and Henning is Head of Group Legal - Law. We finished a 30km run (18.65 miles) together last year.
